Reporte de caso Síndrome autoinmune inducido por adyuvantes (asia) en primer nivel de atención Case Report: Autoinmune Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants at first level of attention

Resumen

Mujer de 44 años procedente de Cuba. Inicia su padecimiento hace 12 años posterior a la aplicación de polivinilmetacrilato, aproximadamente 10 cc en región glútea, dos meses después decide colocarse implantes mamarios de silicón, presentando complicaciones graves en el posoperatorio inmediato, siendo necesario retirar los implantes. Aproximadamente 6 meses después presenta múltiples síntomas inexplicables, siendo diagnosticada de manera inicial como Lupus Eritematoso Sistémico (les), sin mejoría con el tratamiento médico prescrito. Finalmente se le diagnostica como síndrome autoinmune inflamatorio inducido por adyuvantes (asia). Las manifestaciones clínica inespecíficas aunado a la falta de información acerca de este síndrome complican el diagnóstico y tratamiento. Es un síndrome con una fisiopatología fascinante y que no debería de pasarse por alto en el primer nivel de atención.

Abstract

A 44 years- old female who was born in Cuba. Her medical condition began 12 years after the application of, approximately, 10 cc of polyvinylmethacrylate in gluteal region. After 2 months, patient decides to undergo breast augmentation surgery, suffering serious complications in the immediate postoperative period, prompting the removal of the implants. Approximately 6 months after the procedure, patient complains of multiple, unexplained symptoms which were initially diagnosed as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. The prescribed medical treatment shows no improvement and she is finally diagnosed with Autoimmune Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants. Non-specific symptoms and a lack of information regarding this syndrome, make diagnosis and treatment difficult. This syndrome shows a fascinating pathophysiology which should not be overlooked at the first level of attention.
