Calidad de vida y depresión en enfermos renales en Puebla

Antecedentes: la enfermedad renal crónica es un problema de salud pública. La terapia de reemplazo renal mejora la sobrevida, incrementa la depresión y disminuye la calidad de vida en la salud. Objetivo: comparar la calidad de vida y depresión en enfermos renales con terapia: diálisis contra hemodiálisis. Material y métodos: estudio transversal, realizado en el Hospital General Zona No. 20, de marzo a septiembre de 2023, en enfermos renales en diálisis o hemodiálisis > 18 años, utilizamos instrumentos: Calidad de Vida en Enfermedad Renal (kdqol-36), índice de Beck para depresión. Realizamos un análisis bivariado de variables con x2 calculándose el riesgo. Se evaluó el puntaje de ambas escalas para determinar una asociación p <0.05. Resultados: De 134 pacientes (67 hemodiálisis y 67 diálisis), 80 % presentó depresión leve y moderada; 75 % tenía calidad de vida regular, sin diferencias en calidad de vida ni riesgo estimado para depresión según tratamiento sustitutivo; la dimensión física, fue mejor en hemodiálisis (p<0.024). Factores asociados a depresión severa: trabajadores activos (p<0.022) y escolaridad menor (p<0.047) sin importar el tratamiento. Conclusión: No existen diferencias en la percepción de calidad de vida global ni riesgo de depresión en los pacientes con diferentes tipos de tratamiento de terapia sustitutiva renal.
