Resumen
Introducción: la pandemia por Covid-19 impulsó un aumento mundial en la conducta suicida. En México, el Inegi reportó un incremento significativo en la tasa de suicidio en 2020, comparado con los dos años anteriores, lo que sugiere que el país no estuvo exento de este fenómeno global. Objetivos: comparar el impacto de la pandemia por covid-19 en la frecuencia de la conducta suicida antes y durante la pandemia. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, observacional y retrospectivo en el Hospital General de Zona Número 20 "La Margarita", Puebla, entre 2018 y 2021. Se incluyeron hombres y mujeres de 14 a 90 años con ideación y/o con intento suicida, utilizando un muestreo probabilístico por conveniencia. Resultados: se analizaron 937 pacientes: 389 hombres y 548 mujeres, con una edad promedio de 25,29 años. En 2018-2019 hubo 322 intentos de suicidio y 69 con ideación suicida; en 2020-2021, 282 intentos y 264 casos de ideación. El método predominante pasó de la intoxicación con fármacos al "cutting" en 2020-2021. Conclusión: se muestra el impacto de la pandemia sobre la conducta suicida, con un aumento en casos, y señala los cambios más significativos en los factores sociodemográficos en México.
